The MAA gives back to the community and helps add a little fun to the summer at the same time.

Funds raised from a “fun auction” held in January at their annual meeting, the Mississippi Auctioneers Association gave a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi for use in purchasing soccer goals just in time for the summer. It was important to the auctioneers to donate the money to a local organization and felt the Boys & Girls Clubs were more than a worthy organization.

André Conway, Vice President of Development at Marketing for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi, believes the fitness-related donation from the Mississippi Auctioneers Association fits well into the organization’s approach to youth development.

“The kids are going to love these soccer goals, and it gives them a new way to get out and get some great exercise and have a lot of fun. Instilling a love for exercise is a key component of our fitness program, and the Mississippi Auctioneer Association’s gift makes this goal easier. We are very thankful to have friends like MAA,” Conway said.

The Mississippi Auctioneer’s Association (MAA) is an organization of professional auctioneers that promotes, through its membership, the auction method of marketing in the State of Mississippi. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi was founded in 1936 and oversees four clubs in Jackson, one club in Canton, one club in Bolton, and a youth camp in Hazlehurst. Annually, more than 5,000 youth attend the clubs and spend about 750,000 hours participating in programs focused on character and leadership, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, recreation, and fitness.
